Update #28

Another Friday, another update!

It was once again a very interesting week. I made an offer for the development of the exhibition platform expoon. I could also apply for a bigger project as an UI/UX-Designer. I was also working to complete the product logo mentioned last week. In my current project I was busy with the technical consulting regarding the new CRM and the further development of the website.

Exhibition platform expoon.ch

At the end of August I integrated three prototypes for the expoon.ch exhibition platform into the existing website, as I had already reported in Update #22.
Now it is planned to go a few steps further and develop the actual platform. I was able to create and submit an offer based on WordPress and WooCommerce. The original schedule was to start the project before the end of October, but this has been postponed for the time being. According to the current information available an implementation could be possible at the end of November. My current project should be completed by mid-November, so an implementation in the second half of November would be suitable for me, too.

Exchange

On Monday I met Matthias for lunch. He also went into business for himself about a year ago and I got to know him during a civil service assignment last year. We got along with each other right away and make sure that we meet again and again.
Of course, the business exchange is always very valuable, too. We talked about what expectations we started with, what expectations were fulfilled, where we had to adapt our approach and where we have the greatest challenges.
Matthias and his business partner had to learn that they needed some rules for working together, even though they had been friends for years. In return, they can share decisions, successes and failures and talk shop about this and that. This aspect is much more missing for me because I work alone at home most of the time and I miss having a team around me from time to time.
On the other hand, I can decide for myself how and when I want to work and what I want to work on, I only have to be accountable to my customers.
At the end of the day, every "working method", whether employed, as a one-man-show or together with business partners, will have advantages and disadvantages and you just have to settle in accordingly.
I am already looking forward to further meetings with him or others who would like to exchange ideas with me.
Thanks for reading.
And now off to the weekend!
